    Skins Cancelled by Channel 4

The rambunctious teen drama will finish in 2013, after broadcasting its seventh series.

The final run, which Channel 4 promises will be “a celebration of this truly iconic series”, will feature famous Skins characters from the past five years.

Fans will be hoping that old favourites Nicholas Hoult (Tony), Dev Patel (Anwar), Kaya Scodelario (Effy) and Jack O’Connell (Cook) will be among those returning.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 said: “Skins is a brilliant show which has defined a generation and will go down as a truly iconic, game-changing piece of television but after seven series it is time for E4 to make way for the next generation of the bold, the new and the innovative.”

Skins, which debuted in January 2007 with 1.4 million viewers, is currently airing its sixth series every Monday at 10pm on E4.
